Initially organized in 1930 and named after Nora Wagner Wood, Ministry President Emeritus, the Nora Wood Missionary Ministry strives to exist with a purpose of spreading good news of the gospel with a smile and the uplifting of one another. The ministry serves Mount Pleasant and the community with numerous outreach partnerships.
The Nora Wood Ministry team member has a passion for supporting, encouraging, and evangelizing, and is committed to serving at the discretion of the ministry leader and per occasion (not inclusive of training/rehearsal).
Role and Responsibilities
- Organize the church’s efforts in supporting missions.
- Assists with educating the church regarding missions, including planning and mission awareness.
- If designated by the ministry leader, oversee budget and expenditures.
- Assists with research, locate, validate and follow up on missions’ projects, opportunities, needs within the local community as well as the church.
- Pray for members of the ministry.
- Help assemble care packages.
- Assist in setup or coordination of outreach opportunities.
- Attend training and meetings as designated by the ministry leader and/or ministry schedule.
