The Nominating Committee is responsible for placing people in specific ministries and/or leadership roles based on their contribution to and participation in church, spiritual gifts, personalities, and interests. Committee members submit potential candidates’ names to the Nominating Chairperson to discern the most optimal placement for the church member. Placement includes Trustees, Deacons, Ministry Leaders, Church Officers, Ministers, and Paid Staff.
The Nominating Committee member has a passion for involving all Christians in the work of the ministry according to their individual spiritual gifts, personalities, and interests and is committed to serving at the discretion of the ministry leader and/or Sr. Pastor.
Role and Responsibilities
- Become familiar with the Nominating Committee Process of Selections.
- Become familiar with the ministry opportunities within and associated with the church.
- Meet with the Sr. Pastor as designated by the annual calendar.
- In-service training, reading material, and discussion is required.
- Observation, Assessment, and Interview of potential candidates must be completed.
- Reports and tracking required of ministries, their opportunities, and candidates.
Qualifications/Skills & Requirements
- Saved and Baptized, Member of Mt. Pleasant at least 1 year prior to service, regularly attend Sunday Service/Sunday School/Bible Study
- Financial Support to Mt. Pleasant, Discreet, a good judge of character, emotionally and spiritually mature
- I Enjoy working with people.
- Serving, exhortation, mercy-showing
