While funeral services are for members and their immediate family*, we do recognize the need to assist families whose deceased loved one was not a member. The following are guidelines for non-member funeral services:

  1. The member of the church who is related to the deceased must work with the funeral coordinator on behalf of the family.
  2. Schedules permitting, the funeral can be held at the church, but the family will be responsible for all costs associated with funeral services to include facility use fee, tech, food services if applicable, and honorariums.
  3. The pastor of Mt. Pleasant or a minister can be requested to officiate the services at the church or funeral home. As an alternative, the family may request a minister from another Christian church to officiate services.
  4. The approved times of the service should be honored by the family. Any personal belongings used for the funeral should be removed at the close of service.
  5. At no time can non-Christian music be played or sung during funeral services held at Mount Pleasant.

At this time, no funeral services will be offered to the general public, that is, someone with no connection to the church. We encourage the use of funeral homes in such cases.

*Immediate family includes (Step)parents, (Step)siblings, spouse, or (Step)children of an active member.
