The Mount Pleasant usher guides people into a praise, prayer, and preaching service believing that their experience will be a pleasant one, where they will hear from God and be led by the Holy Spirit.
The purpose of Senior and Junior ushers is to welcome all people into God’s house and as an Usher Board member have a passion for serving and helping others. A commitment of at least 4 hours/week and the discretion of the Sr. Usher and ministry is required. Ministry members assist our Pastor as needed, while knowing the layout of Mount Pleasant. We are observant during congregational services to ensure their needs are met as well.
Age Ranges:
Senior Usher 18 and Older
Junior Usher 10-17
Role and Responsibilities
- Attend worship services.
- Watch for and welcome guests.
- Assist guests, members, and latecomers with seating as needed.
- Distribute literature as called upon, such as a visitor packet, fan, information, etc.
- Receive tithes and offerings and leave them with the appropriate person.
- Offer directions when needed.
- Open doors and assist elderly and disabled individuals as needed.
- Attend meetings as scheduled.
Qualifications/Skills & Requirements
- Willingness to serve, lead, and learn.
- Prior knowledge and experience of ushering rules and regulations.
